THORENS TD150 Mk2. Two extended armboards - Rega & SME pattern no arm. Good condition, I have had this since university, and used it with Hadcock, Linn, Rega and SME arms, hence the extended armboard size, below which is a brace spot welded to the original subchassis. Not the prettiest modification, but it does the job of reinforcing the subchassis. There is some damping applied - not much needed as the fabricated subchassis is not as resonant as the one piece 160 series pressing. The subchassis and top plate were once painted metallic grey, and some of the paint has come off. The trim plate is a piece of recycled black brushed aluminium effect held on by double sided tape (as was the original metal trim). This can easily be taken off. Linn springs, no mysterious creaking of the suspension. Plinth is MDF lacquered walnut veneer, with plywood base. Not the best as it is an early sample of my work. There are some small scratches and dents from use over the many years. Base is plywood. The lid is from a Rega, has some marks, but is optically clear. It may not be tall enough for SME arms, depending on your cartridge. Everything works as it does with Thorens, ie occasionally 45rpm selection is not as smooth as it could be. Lightly used belt fitted. Bearing cleaned and new oil will be provided. Suspension is set up for a Rega, so just fit your own single hole or three point fix Rega arm and off you go. Depending on your cartridge, Rega arm may need a spacer to raise height for correct VTA. Got to go, I need to continue clearout.Return accepted at buyers cost, for good reasons. I have described and photographed the deck as thoroughly as possible, small scuffs, marks etc. should be expected for a used item. You could do a lot worse.
