TENSAI TD860B Belt Drive Turntable System Record Player Made in Japan Unit powers on and rotates as it should but the Play/Cut knob doesnt work correctly. So it requires attention. Some scratch marks on the casing lid. Sold as SPARES/PARTSTested and working.

This is for a nice Japanese turntable, the make is TENSAI TD-750QZ I have another lot of Japanese HIFI items listed but this listing is just for the turntable. I have tested the turntable and it seems to work as should, all the speeds work and the auto start and stop works, the quarts drive seems to keep time but you can also manually adjust the speed. It comes with an audio technica stylus but the needle is slightly crooked, still seems to work without issue though. The cover unfortunately has been damaged by what looks like a hot cable or I think just from it being left coiled on the cover for many years so please see the photos, it comes with a fitted cleaning arm and a small cleaning brush that I have put underneath the matt. The only thing I can see thats missing is one of the feet underneath that would be adjustable, you could take all the feet off, buy a new one or just find something to match the height of the other feet. I got these audio items from a loft clearance of a ex smoker and they were just stored and not cleaned prior to being put away probably 10 years or so ago. I spent along time cleaning them, unfortunately they are still a bit grimy so this might need to be addressed and a bit more cleaning done. I think these items would have been expensive back in the day, if there is something you dont want me to include in the parcel then let me know after the auction. TENSAI TD 861B 2 SPEED BELT DRIVE TURNTABLE LATE 1970S/EARLY 80S I AM QUITE IMPRESSED WITH THIS TURNTABLE, HAVING MADE A COUPLE IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING REPLACING THE BELT AND UPGRADING THE CARTRIDGE TO A ORTOFON OM10 (NOT NEW BUT GOOD PERFORMANCE AND PLENTY OF USE LEFT IN IT) AS YOU CAN SEE THE COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS DECK ARE THE HINGES OF THE LID WHICH AFTER 40 ODD YEARS DO GIVE UP THE GHOST AS YOU WILL SEE FROM OTHER EXAMPLES FOR SALE. 1 OF THEM ON MINE IS GOOD BUT DESPITE GLUEING THE OTHER, IT DID SPRING BACK AFTER A MONTH OR SO, AS THERE IS A PIECE OF PLASTIC MISSING. THE REST OF THE DECK IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION INCLUDING THE LID WHICH DOES HAVE MINOR SCRATCHING BUT COMPLETE WITH NO CHUNKS OUT OF IT BARRING AFOREMENTIONED PART OF THE HINGE. THE BALANCE WEIGHT WITH CAT GUT IS MISSING BUT IT DOES TRACK FINE WITHOUT IT AND THESE ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE ON EBAY FOR OTHER SIMILAR DECKS IF SO REQUIRED. HAVE LOADED UP A SHORT VIDEO OF THE DECK IN OPERTION AND THERE PHOTOS SHOWING HOW I USED A BATTERY TO PROP UP THE LID. THIS IS A REALLY GOOD BUY FOR A STARTER SET-UP (AND I DONT MEAN IN ANY WAY THAT IT IS BASIC) WITH THE BELT REPLACED AND AN UPGRADED CARTRIDGE MAKES FOR WHAT I CONSIDER A BARGAIN.
