Used Shure V15 Type III phono cartridge with Jico VN35HE stylus on an Audio Technica HS-1 headshell. Please read details below. I WELCOME QUESTIONS AND OFFERS. This cart is a cult classic. No longer in production, but regarded by some as one of the best moving magnet cartridges ever made. People in forums compare to Ortofon 2M bronze/black and Audio Technica VMN540/740ML. I can attest that the quality of sound is on par with the latter, although a bit more detailed and less warm than the AT - not a bad thing, just depends on what you want. Cart is in very good working condition. Unknown number of hours. Unfortunately, it does NOT come with the original stylus with beryllium cantilever - those are no longer made due to carcinogenic properties. However, Jico makes excellent replacement stylii. Cart comes with a VN35HE (hyperelliptical) stylus (approx $150 value at time of purchase). Jico makes some very nice upgrades, including SAS (super analog stylus) versions with boron, sapphire, or ruby cantilevers. Stylus used approx 125 hours. Will be cleaned with appropriate solution before sending. To my ears it sounds very detailed without being too analytical; has good bass - crisp without being muddy or overpowering; is a detailed tracker which is good for most reasons, but might reveal imperfections on worn vinyl. Note, its a heavy cart at ~6g. Recommend checking compliance with your turntable. Set up for Audio Technica LP120, Technics SL-1200, or similar. However, I recommend using a protractor to adjust angles properly regardless of your turntable.
