Tubes are matched for dynamic gain and structure- test at 1150, 1125, 1075 where pass/fail is 470 micromho, when tested as an 01A tube with a 6.3 V filament (as operated in the 7A/14A amplifier). They have the same structure inside and out. The tubes have also been tested in a 7A amplifier and they provided good audio. There is no blue gas in the bulb when at operating voltage. You are bidding on a pair of new old stock type CTL 316A radio transmitting tubes in their original boxes. These are 30 watt triode output tubes designed by Western Electric, but these are labelled Tung-Sol. The military designation is VT-161, and these are sometimes referred to as doorknob or flying saucer tubes. They come in original, but poor boxes and appear to be new. I am unable to test them except to confirm they have good filament continuity. I lit the filaments on both. They are identical, and likely made for the US Military.
