ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:We are selling an PAIR of Wharfedale Diamond II vintage loudspeakers Wharfedale, made many popular designs from the 1970s and are still in peoples homes, In 1981, work began on a product which was to change the face of the loudspeaker industry forever. Derived from research undertaken for the high end TSR102, the Wharfedale Diamond was born. The Diamonds small cabinets (just 9.5H x 7.25:W x 7.5D) and the stiff, yet light polypropylene speaker cones meant a very fast, tight sound and compact, accurate two-way drivers produced a fantastic stereo image. They quickly became best sellers and the Diamond range became a permanent fixture on Wharfedales product list. Within a year, the Diamond II was launched with improved 20mm plastic dome tweeter and Wharfedales TSR 110mm long throw mid/bass driver, sporting a then state-of-the-art polypropylene cone. The result was a compact loudspeaker, that works with amplifiers between 15 and 100W, that produces a big loudspeaker sound and lifelike quality. The Diamond continues to be a mainstay in hope stereo setups. Vintage or not the sound is excellent. Finish: black wood grain vinyl laminate over wood composite Reflex porting in the rear. Cabinets have mounting holes in the back edge for hanging. These speakers have some wear issues and one corner needs attention. They sound amazing and the grills look great for their age.
