So, if I am to ship it, it will come with certain conditions, so please read before clicking anything. First, it will come in two boxes. Yes, I have the original box. But, the platter is just too heavy. I can wrap the platter well, and place it in the original box. There is no way I can repack this and get it to you. I would prefer to have professional UPS packaging of the table. I got a quote. $85. Yes, it is too much. If you want it in one piece, and insurable, this is it. Sorry, but it is what it is. So, recap. Ill pack the platter. No charge. You will be paying to ship it in the original box, with the arm. And the turntable will be packed by UPS for $85. This would be at your cost. Then, you would pay for the shipping of the turntable as well. And both boxes would then be insured for the $999 cap per box. Thats as much as UPS will cover through ebay. Two boxes, two thousand dollars insurance. If you want to insure it for more, that would be up to you to arrange. I accept no responsibility on this sale. And, you would need to file a claim for any insurance, if damaged or lost. Not me. This is why I want UPS to pack the table. Then, there is a shot if a claim is made if it gets lost, stolen or damaged, as they packed it. I can get the platter to you fine, but insured also just in case. Total cost for shipping would be $265. I apologize but it is what it is. I am old. I do not really even want to ship it, but too many people have been asking about shipping it. Its definitely an Aries 1 model, circa approximately 1994-1995. The arm is indeed a 10-inch (you only measure the armtube) JMW metal unipivot arm. A very solid, substantial table in its day, and lots of them still running from ~30 years ago. And, I received this from a fellow trader kind enough to share his knowledge. One thing VPI didnt tell you about your particular Aries 1 is that in place of the stock platter that came with the table, yours has the platter from the VPI TNT 5.The Aries had a real good platter: 1.25; thick, comprised of a 7/8 thick bottom section made of aluminum (onto which was bonded a thin sheet of lead, covered in cork), with a 3/8 thick top layer of Delrin. The same platter came on the TNT 3 and 4.The TNT 5 has a great one: 1.5; thick, the bottom section 5/8 thick stainless steel (no lead sheet), with a 7/8 thick top Delrin layer. Thats the platter you have, and its the one most VPI aficionados consider the best platter VPI has ever made. Congratulations, it (and the Aries table) is a beauty! There is full inspection available to the buyer, but no returns for any reason, once it meets with your approval, if local pick-up. Must be picked up with 3 days if local pickup. I will make myself available within that timeframe. No exceptions. If shipped, I will only be able to do this within 5 days, vs my usual lightning shipping. No offers outside of ebay please. Its definitely an Aries 1 model, circa approximately 1994-1995. The arm is indeed a 10-inch (you only measure the armtube) JMW metal unipivot arm. A very solid, substantial table in its day, and lots of them still running from ~30 years ago. And, I received this from a fellow trader kind enough to share his knowledge. One thing VPI didnt tell you about your particular Aries 1 is that in place of the stock platter that came with the table, yours has the platter from the VPI TNT 5.The Aries had a real good platter: 1.25; thick, comprised of a 7/8 thick bottom section made of aluminum (onto which was bonded a thin sheet of lead, covered in cork), with a 3/8 thick top layer of Delrin. The same platter came on the TNT 3 and 4.The TNT 5 has a great one: 1.5; thick, the bottom section 5/8 thick stainless steel (no lead sheet), with a 7/8 thick top Delrin layer. Thats the platter you have, and its the one most VPI aficionados consider the best platter VPI has ever made. Congratulations, it (and the Aries table) is a beauty! There is full inspection available to the buyer, but no returns for any reason, once it meets with your approval. Must be picked up with 3 days, local pickup. Up for auction is my recently serviced (by George Meyer AV), upgraded VPI Scout turntable. The turntable was significantly upgraded with the JMW Memorial 10.5i Tonearm and the HRX/Scoutmaster 2 platter and inverted bearing. This is the perfect table for those who want more than the stock Scout or Prime. It is boxed up and ready to ship. The JMW 10.5i arm has the VTA on the fly tower, that you dont get on any table below the $5K VPI Prime 21. It is wired internally with Nordost Valhalla wiring from the cartridge pins all the way through to the cable junction box, with an additional 2.5 grams effective mass for greater cartridge compatibility (including lighter, low compliance carts), variable pivot fluid damping, and mechanical anti-skate control. please note, I used the twisted wire anti skate method recommend by VPI an no longer have the rubber anti-skate weights. Also included is the Soundsmith counterintuitive, VPI alignment jig, and Ginko cover (although the cover is modified by me to fit the much larger arm. No cartridge is included with the sale. However, I would recommend the Ortofon Quintent Black. This is a heavy table, and will come in 2 boxes (1 for the table the second for the cover) No returns or warranty implied.
