This auction is for a Sony Watchman model FD-2A handheld / portable TV! Manufactured in August of 1985, this is apparently a Miami Dolphins edition, with the team name and logo on the face of the device. It turns on, as can be seen in the auction photos! When I plugged in headphones, I received sound whether in the sound mode or the TV mode, but was never able to get sound to come out of the devices speaker for some reason. This is a nice piece of vintage technology, and a great collectible for sports fans! In addition, there are apparently clips on the web that show how to set up a Watchman to receive a digital over the air signal, although Ive never done this myself, and it involves external, additional equipment. The battery compartment on this does appear to have some corrosion in it, and the tip of one spring appears to be gone, but when I put in four AA batteries (not included), it powered up without issue! Very nice Sony Watchman TV from 1986. Powers on and works great. It doesn’t tune into any UHF/ VHF channels because those frequencies are no longer broadcasting television signals. Very cool unit. The antenna looks like it had a bend in it that was repaired at one point (see photos) it is straight now. Also, the antenna does pull out, but stays in if it is not pulled on. I think it is missing the original screw that held it locked in.
