It turns on, turner dial works, volume and all other features work. Unable to tune in a tv station. Antenna is present and free of any damage. No cracks, breaks, defects or damage. Does not include the original box or any paperwork. Dimensions: overall – 8.5” by 2.5” by 4.75”. Weight without packing materials and shipping box is about 2 pounds 2 ounces. The FM & AM Radios work fine. And the TV function was working until the signal went away. Now you just see snow. I have no way of testing the TV function, so no warrantee can be made about that. Includes the necessary D-cell batteries. The 12v charger has been lost, but these are readily available.

If you are looking at this then you probably already know what you are looking at. This and the smaller Sony black & white TV were used as production monitors by an Internationally known Steadicam Operator in the early days of Steadicam and before moving on to the GV-8 and other color receiving and recording options. It was used for such productions as the first Home Run Derby and All Stars Game at Camden Field The first MTV Awards and many other first. As stated clearly in the listing the unit was put away in fully working condition years ago but I cannot find a 6 volt DC power supply for it so despite having VHF transmission and test equipment I really have no way of testing it. As such it is priced right between the known junk and the known operational: units but with ALL UNITS of this age many of the capacitors will need replacement if the unit is to be fully usable. Somewhere I think i saw the case for the unit but I do know know where so that is just NOT included. Thank you

This auction is for a Sony Watchman model FD-2A handheld / portable TV! Manufactured in August of 1985, this is apparently a Miami Dolphins edition, with the team name and logo on the face of the device. It turns on, as can be seen in the auction photos! When I plugged in headphones, I received sound whether in the sound mode or the TV mode, but was never able to get sound to come out of the devices speaker for some reason. This is a nice piece of vintage technology, and a great collectible for sports fans! In addition, there are apparently clips on the web that show how to set up a Watchman to receive a digital over the air signal, although Ive never done this myself, and it involves external, additional equipment. The battery compartment on this does appear to have some corrosion in it, and the tip of one spring appears to be gone, but when I put in four AA batteries (not included), it powered up without issue! Being sold as is, where is, no warranty expressed or implied. Will combine shipping on multiple items whenever possible. Feel free to email with any questions! Sony Vintage Mega Watchman. Model FD-510. Manufacture date is 1992. AM and FM radios work fine (just tested). TV is black and white, comes on when selected, but we don’t have broadcast TV in our area, so couldn’t test quality. Has input jack for external antenna. Can also run on 8 D cell batteries or 12 volt DC power supply (not included, download the user manual). Some corrosion on D Cell terminals inside bottom, looks like easy removal with file or sand paper. Power cord is obviously included. See pictures. Case is in perfect shape.
